New features in Controller 10.4.2

The new features in IBM® Controller improve ease of use and add functionality to Controller Web.

Controller Web

The following features are new in Controller Web:
Free forms
In IBM Controller Classic, you use free forms to enter data using Microsoft Excel. Now in Controller Web, you can open free forms that were created in IBM Controller Classic and use them for data entry. The layouts and most of the formulas work the same as in IBM Controller Classic. For more information, see Populate.
Multiselect companies for actions
In the Submission Overview list, you can select multiple companies and perform actions on them such as lock, unlock, and status change. For more information, see Multiselect for company actions.
Quick access to the company workflow
In the Submission Overview list, you can go to the company workflow for a company with one mouse click. Previously, you had to select it from the Action menu. For more information, see Submissions.
Filter on free forms or standard forms
On the Populate tab, you can filter the list of forms by free forms or standard forms. For more information, see Populate.

IBM Controller Classic

The following features are new in IBM Controller Classic.
Active Directory authentication
You can use Active Directory authentication for single sign-on instead of IBM Cognos Analytics. For more information, see Configure Active Directory authentication.
Faster rendering of standard reports using IBM Controller Embedded Report Library
In the past, you needed Cognos Analytics to view the standard reports. The Controller Embedded Report Library is an optional alternative to Cognos Analytics for viewing the standard reports.
If you want to use the Controller Embedded Report Library to view the standard reports, you must select the Controller Reports component when you install Controller. For more information, see Controller Embedded Report Library.
Delete staging tables records
You can delete records from the staging tables based on how old they are. For more information, see Define General Configuration - the General 3 Tab.
