Uninstall the Older Version of IBM Controller

You must uninstall the older version of IBM® Controller before you can install a new version. Different versions of IBM Controller cannot exist on the same computer due to resource conflicts.

You can keep the older version of IBM Controller if you install the new version on a separate computer. For more information, see Upgrading to a New Server.

We recommend that you perform a trial upgrade several weeks before upgrading your production system. For more information, see Recommendation - Perform a Trial Upgrade

Tip: When you uninstall, all IBM Controller Configuration settings are reverted to the default settings. We recommend that you make a note of all your configuration settings, before you uninstall IBM Controller. This way you can easily configure the new version of IBM Controller using the same settings.
