IBMid to Cognos CAM authentication Migration

You can migrate the authentication mode from IBMid to CAM.

Prerequisite

Following are the prerequisites for migrating from IBMid to CAM authentication:
  • The Customer is currently in IBM® Cognos Controller version 11.0.1 and using IBMid as the authentication mode.
  • Planning Analytics environment is provisioned.
  • Provide the Administrator user ID to the support team.

Authentication mode migration

These are the steps to migrating the authentication mode from IBMid to CAM authentication.

Steps:
  1. The ADM user logs into Cognos Controller Classic navigates to Maintain > Special Utilities > Browse Data fetch the list of Controller user from XIBMIDUSER table. The data would be by default in .c1dx format. Navigate to Preview and save the file in .xlsx format.
  2. Login to Planning Analytics and export the template.
  3. Format the data from the above .xlsx file to the new template.
  4. Upload the data (users list) in Planning Analytics and send the invite for each users.
  5. Once the user is activated in the Planning Analytics environment, log into Cognos Controller Classic and navigate to User > Maintain > Rights and map the Controller user with their corresponding CAM ID.
