Fact trickling
Fact (data) trickling is the repetitive process
in which the FAP Service looks for changes (inserts, updates, deletions)
in the IBM® Cognos® Controller database, and updates the
FAP cubes accordingly.
The fact trickling process:
- Based on the clock interval defined in the FAP client, the FAP Service searches for changes in the IBM Cognos Controller database.
- The FAP Service transfers all changes from the IBM Cognos Controller database to the FAP database.
- A TI process fetches facts from the FAP database and updates the nodes in the FAP cubes.
Each data trickle cycle generates a log in the FAP client log.
