Configure IBM Cognos Controller

You use IBM® Cognos® Controller Configuration to do the initial configuration of Cognos Controller.

If you are using a computer with Microsoft Windows installed and the User Account Control (UAC) is turned on, IBM Cognos Controller Configuration is identified as an administrative application. You must run it with elevated administrative privileges. To properly save the configuration settings, the UAC prompts for credentials if you are using a standard account.

You configure the following items using IBM Cognos Controller Configuration:

Security: By default, native security is configured for the Controller database. If you want to set up security, configure security settings immediately after installing IBM Cognos Controller. For more information, see Configuring Authenticated Access.
Data access: Specify database connection information for at least one Controller database.
Cognos Business Intelligence or Cognos Analytics integration: Specify URIs for connecting to the gateway and dispatcher in Cognos Business Intelligence or Cognos Analytics.
