Manually starting the FTP agent in Microsoft Windows for W3C, IIS, and xferlog

You can manually start the FTP agent in Microsoft Windows for W3C, IIS, and xferlog.

About this task

To manually start the FTP agent, you can use Windows Services or run an executable or batch file. By default, the FTP agent listens on port 58084. You need this information when you define a managed FTP server in IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor. To manually start the FTP agent in Microsoft Windows, use one of the following methods:

Procedure

  • Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services to display the Services window, then right-click IBM Sterling Control Center - FTP Agent v6.0, and click Start.
  • Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt to display a command window, change to the root directory, and type FTPAgentInstallDir\bin\runFtpAgent$.exe.
  • In Microsoft Windows Explorer, navigate to the FTPAgentInstallDir\bin directory and double-click runFtpAgent$.exe.
  • In Microsoft Windows Explorer, navigate to the FTPAgentInstallDir\bin directory and double-click runFtpAgent.bat.
