Configuring the engine to connect to Oracle RAC through command line installation

In the Database Connection Parameters configuration step, when you specify the database type as Oracle, you are prompted to specify whether the installation is for an Oracle RAC environment.

Procedure

  1. To configure connections to an Oracle RAC database, Type Y and press Enter.
  2. Follow the prompts, as shown in the following example, to specify all Oracle hosts in the cluster.
    Config step :  Database connection parameters configuration ...

    Provide the following database connection parameters...
    Enter the database type (DB2 or DB2zOS or oracle or MSSQL) [Oracle] : oracle
    Is your database in an Oracle RAC environment? (Y/N)[Y]Y
    How many nodes are in your cluster? 2
    Provide the database host name for cluster host #1 : []reseph
    Provide the database port number for cluster host#1 :[]1521
    Provide the database host name for cluster host #2 : []marduk
    Provide the database port number for cluster host #2 :[]1521
    Provide the database user name [] : SCCUSER
    Database Password (no blanks):
    Re-enter Database Password :
    Provide the database name (Service Name) [] : gisr1.sci.local
