Posting Events

Purpose

This topic describes how to post events to IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor using Control Center's Open Server Architecture interface. You can use the information in this section to allow Control Center Monitor to monitor servers that cannot be manually configured in IBM Control Center Monitor for monitoring.

Applicability

This section applies to IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor v6.1 and above.

Assumptions

This section assumes that you are familiar with IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor, the concept of monitoring servers and processes via events, and RESTful web services.

Posting Events

There are two ways to post events to IBM Control Center Monitor:

• Using the Event Publisher SDK for Java (EPS4J).
• Posting events directly to IBM Control Center's Event Repository RESTful API.
