Rebalancing Servers Across Event Processors

You can rebalance servers so that they are evenly distributed among your event processors. The rebalance can occur after you upgrade from a previous version of IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor, and rebalancing servers among your EPs can take several minutes to complete.

Before you begin

You must complete the following prerequisites before you rebalance your servers:
  • You must be an IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor administrator.
  • Your system contains two or more EPs.
Attention: WebSphere® File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Agent, WS_FTP, and IBM Sterling Connect:Enterprise® for z/OS® servers are monitored servers that use Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps. By default, these servers are pinned to the currently assigned EPs and are not included in the rebalance. If you want to include one of these server types in the rebalance, go to the Advanced properties of the server and unpin the server. When these servers are not pinned in the rebalance, you must contact the system administrator of the server to have the SNMP traps reconfigured or you can lose the traps.
