You can import rules that were exported from another IBM® Sterling Control Center
Monitor instance into your instance. The
imported rules appear in the IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor
web console.
About this task
Attention: Only a user with the administer permission can import rules.
To
import rules into your
IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor
instance:
Procedure

In the IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor web console,
click .

Click Import rule.

Click Browse and select the .zip file that you
saved during the export procedure. Click OK.
Important:
The .zip file that you save during the export procedure cannot be modified.
If you modify the .zip file, then the rule import action that uses the modified
.zip file might fail.

Select the rules that you want to import in the Import rule dialog.
When the dialog is displayed, the following rules might be included:
- Rules that are selectable and checked, which do not have conflicts with the rules and related
objects in the target IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor
instance.
- Rules that are selectable but not checked, which have one or more conflicts with rules and
related objects in the target IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor
instance. If you select the rule and import it, then the rule in the target IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor instance is overwritten.
- Rules that are not selectable, which cannot be imported into the target IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor instance. The rule has a related
server, server group, or data visibility group that is not in the target IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor instance. If you want to import
the rule, hover over the error icon to read a detailed message about the missing objects, then add
the related server, server group, or data visibility group to the target IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor instance.

Click OK to import the rules.
