Creating a Secure Connection Between the Event Processor and a Managed Server

To ensure the secure transfer of information between IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor and a managed server, you can configure a secure connection between the event processor (EP) and the server. IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor supports secure connections between the EP and a managed Sterling Connect:Direct® server or IBM Sterling B2B Integrator SOA SSL Server Adapter.

A secure connection between the EP and a managed Sterling Connect:Direct server or Sterling B2B Integrator server is server authenticated. The EP is the client and the managed Sterling Connect:Direct or Sterling B2B Integrator server is the server. Client authentication functionality can also be enabled and is controlled by the server.

In a high availability environment, every event processor's keystore certificate must be trusted by your other event processors in the cluster. In every event processor's truststore, you must include the certificate. You can use the same keystore and truststore files for every event processor in your high availability environment. You might receive a browser security warning when you access the web console on an event processor where the common name does not match the host name that you are connecting to.
