Single Sign-On (SSO) Users Setup

About this task

Control Center supports following external authentication types:
Table 1.
External Authentication Type Purpose
None Specifies that the user will be authenticated using the Control Center username and password.
Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS) Specifies that the user will be authenticated using the SEAS username and password.
Single Sign-On (SSO) IDP Specifies that the user will be authenticated through SSO (Single Sign-On) IDP (Identity Provider) credentials.

Setup a new user in Control Center with SSO Authentication type

Procedure

  1. Enter details in User ID, Role, Email Address, User Description, and TCP IP Address fields.
  2. For SSO External Authentication, select the User Single Sign-On (SSO) IDP radio button to use SSO as external authentication.
    1. If the user's IDP User ID is the same as the Control Center User ID, then select Use Control Center User ID.
    2. If the user's IDP User ID is different from the Control Center User ID, then select Use SSO IDP ID and specify the user's IDP User ID in the SSO IDP User ID field.

Update existing Control Center users with SSO Authentication type

Procedure

  1. Edit the existing user from the User list page.
  2. For SSO External Authentication, select the Use Single Sign-On (SSO) IDP radio button.
  3. If the user's IDP User ID is the same as the Control Center User ID, then select Use Control Center User ID.
  4. If the user's IDP User ID is different from the Control Center User ID, then select Use SSO IDP ID and specify the user's IDP User ID in the SSO IDP User ID field.
