Upgrading IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor V6.2.0, V6.2.1, V6.3.0 to V6.3.1 on Microsoft Windows

You can upgrade IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor from V6.2.0, V6.2.1, V6.3.0 to V6.3.1 on Microsoft Windows.

Before you begin

Read the Release Notes and the Detailed System Requirements to ensure that your hardware and software are compatible with the version to which you are migrating.

Before you upgrade IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor, backup most recent conf folder under CCInstallDirectory/conf-exported/
Important:
  • If you need to revert your instance to an earlier release, the database administrator must back up the databases.

About this task

To upgrade IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor from V6.2.0, V6.2.1, V6.3.0 to V6.3.1 on Microsoft Windows:

Procedure

  1. Close all IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor consoles.
  2. Stop the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor EP.
  3. Take a snapshot of the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor database for fall back purposes.
  4. Run the exportConfig.bat script to back up your configuration data.
  5. Run the installer and select the existing IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor installation folder as the destination folder.
  6. For all prompts, keep the same value that was defined in the previous version and click Next.
  7. Run configCC.bat if you have a command line for the upgrade.
    Attention: During the Event Processor Name installation step, you can use only alphanumeric characters to name the EP. The EP name must be unique in the database. Do not select Yes for reinitialization of the database for Production.
    Important: Do not select Yes for reinitialization of the database for production. Reinitializing the database will result in the loss of monitored server activity data and impact features, including but not limited to monitoring and reporting.
  8. Start the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor EP.
  9. Log in to IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor Web Console from one of the supported browser by typing http://<host address>:port or https://<host address>:port.
