Creating a Template

You can create a template to define the most commonly used values. Then, use the template to quickly create a definition for a server. Create a template by copying a configuration object definition from a server or an existing template or by defining all values in the template.

To create a template:

Procedure

  1. Go to Templates in the left navigation pane, and select required Object Type from the drop down.
    A list of existing templates of the selected Object Type is displayed.
  2. From the overflow menu icon (Overflow menu icon displays a list of actions) above the grid, click Create New.
    Note: If you want to delete/compare multiple templates, click Delete and Compare respectively.
  3. Take one of these steps:
    • To create a template and manually type all values, ensure that Enter new configuration object details is selected.
    • To create a template from an existing definition, select Start from an existing configuration object entry on another server. Identify the server where the definition is located in the Server field and the functional authority entry to copy in the configuration objectfield.
    • To create a template from an existing template, select Start from a template and select the template to copy in the Template field.
  4. Enter all required details. Click Next.
  5. Review the template details in the Confirm Choices dialog box. Click Finish.
  6. Click Close.
