Exporting Configuration Data

You can export all of your configuration data from one IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor instance with one or more event processors. After you export the data, you can then import the data into other IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instances.

Before you begin

The event processors in the source IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instance must connect to the database.

About this task

You can export all of your configuration data from a source IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instance that has one or more event processors. For example, if you are exporting from a cluster that has multiple event processors, you need to export from only one event processor because they share database tables. To export all of your configuration data from the conf folder and database:

Procedure

  1. If any event processor in the source IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instance is running, stop it.
  2. Select one event processor and run exportConfig.sh/bat in the source IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instance to export the configuration data. The batch file creates the folder conf-exported/{date_time}/conf with all of the configuration data and adds a flag to the InstallationInfo.properties file in conf-exported/{date_time}/conf folder. The name and value of the flag is EXPORTED_CONFIGURATION = true.

What to do next

Back up the existing configuration data at the target IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instance, and then import the configuration data that you exported from the source IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instance.
