Permissions

Permissions define the actions that IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor users can perform.

If a role does not have permission to access a function, that function is not shown on the web console of the affected user and cannot be selected. After you define a role with restricted access, you can restrict access to actions, rule schedules, SLC schedules, and calendars. You can restrict access by associating the restricted role with the item you create.

The following table summarizes IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor permissions:

  • Add any server type that is supported by IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor regardless of server-level restrictions

View properties, status, and monitoring policies of servers and server groups. Cannot view or manage servers, server groups, and properties, status or monitoring policies of servers and server groups
Data Visibility Groups Add, update, view, and delete data visibility groups

Only IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor administrators can manage data visibility groups. To qualify as an administrator, the role must not be server or data visibility group-restricted and must have “manage” authority to required elements. If a role qualifies as an administrator, the “manage” permission is allowed; otherwise, only “view” or “none” are allowed.

System Settings

Web Access

Function Prompt Auto Login
Web Access Deprecated and not used anymore. Select Auto Login to allow a role to automatically log in to one of the following selected server types:
  • Sterling B2B Integrator server with the Sterling B2B Integrator Dashboard
  • Sterling File Gateway server with myFileGateway

    If you select Auto Login for a role, if a Connection Dashboard Port value is not specified for a Sterling B2B Integrator managed server, automated login is not functional. As a result, the Sterling B2B Integrator Dashboard option on the Manage menu is dimmed and cannot be selected.

Consoles

Console Auto Refresh Require the role to refresh a monitor through one of the following methods:
  • Clicking the monitor Refresh button
  • Selecting the Server > Manual Refresh menu item
  • Pressing the F5 key
Use system setting. Does not allow the role to set Auto Refresh setting or set their own Console Preferences setting. Allow the role to set the Console Auto Refresh value in System Settings (Console tab) and to set their own refresh setting in IBM Control Center > Console Preferences.
Console Timeout Console Timeout feature is not used. User is not logged out due to inactivity. Use system setting. Does not allow the role to set Console Timeout settings. Allow the role to set the Time out after n minute(s) of inactivity and the Display warning message n minute(s) before timing out values in System Settings .
