About metadata actions

In IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor, metadata actions act similarly to conventional ones, but they are used only by metadata rules (and metadata rules can only refer to metadata actions). You manage metadata actions in much the same way as conventional ones.

The values in a metadata action are added to events when the metadata rules they are part of match the events.
