Installing and configuring IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor for high availability with the GUI installer

You can install and configure IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor for high availability with the GUI installer. To have a high availability environment, you must plan to install multiple event processors.

Ensure that you have an existing event processor that is running by either upgrading it to IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor V6.3.0 or installing a new event processor.
Important: For each new event processor, you must specify the same database connection details, but specify different event processor names.
To install and configure IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor for high availability with the GUI installer:
  1. Browse to the Microsoft Windows directory where you extracted the files.
  2. Run the CCInstall64.exe file.
  3. Start the installer in GUI mode and respond to the installation prompts.
  4. After the installation completes, run configCC.bat from <installed location>/bin folder. While responding the configCC.bat prompts use the information from the Reports worksheet, HTTPS workspace, and the Production database worksheet.
Attention: During the Event Processor Name installation step, you can use only alphanumeric characters to name the event processor. The event processor name must be unique in the database and can be no more than 10 characters.

If the installation fails, review the installation log IBM_Sterling_Control_Center_V6.3.0_Install_<mm_dd_yyyy_hh_mm_ss>.log that is located in the installation directory to determine the cause.

Repeat these steps for every new event processor you want to install and configure for high availability.
