Running the event counter utility before installing IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor

The event counter utility can be run before installing IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor to assist you in determining the platform necessary to monitor servers.

To run the event counter utility before installing IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor:
  1. Download the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor installer for your platform.
  2. Navigate to the location of the downloaded installer.
    • For Microsoft Windows, go to a cmd prompt and type one of the following commands:
      CCInstall64.exe -i console
      Note: This command line prompts you to accept the license and the directory for the installation.
    • For non Microsoft Windows, go to a cmd shell and type one of the following commands:
      sh CCInstall64.bin -i console
  3. Accept the license.
  4. After installation is complete, ignore the message about running the configCC utility.
  5. Navigate to the /bin directory.
  6. To run the Event Counter Utility:
    • For Microsoft Windows, go to a cmd prompt and type:
      runEventCounter
    • For non Microsoft Windows, go to a cmd shell and type:
      sh runEventCounter sh
