Performing a new installation with the GUI installer to support database partitioning

When you are performing a new installation of IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor that uses the GUI installer on Microsoft Windows platforms, you need to provide values that support database partitioning.

Based on the System Settings, older data is purged from the five tables daily. If the old data is needed, then it must be archived before the purge process removes it. To install IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor with the GUI installer to support database partitioning:

  1. Install IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor by using the Windows installer.
  2. After the installation is complete, run configCC.bat from the installation directory/bin folder.
  3. During the database initialization step, you are asked whether you want to convert your production database tables to partitioned tables, if partitioning is supported. Specify Y to convert tables to partitioned tables. Depending on the size of your database tables, the process of converting the tables to partitioned tables can take a while.
