IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor settings

IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor settings control system behavior and performance. Most settings are specified during system installation and do not need to be changed. However, you may need to change some settings to accommodate new requirements.

The following table describes the sections on the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor System Settings page:

System Setting Description
Logs Displays the locations of the EP log files.
Console

Default Console Auto Refresh Setting sets the default number of seconds between automatic refreshes of the activity monitors for users with permission levels that allow for automatic refresh.

The Enter Default Console Timeout values settings specify the default number of minutes a user session is inactive before the user is logged out and the default number of minutes before the inactivity timeout has been reached that a warning message will be displayed.

Database Defines the location and type of IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor production database, how the connections to the database is established, and when to automatically handle alerts.

These settings are established during installation. Take caution when changing them because they affect IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor operation.

Email Server Specifies the communications parameters used to send email messages. Display only.
Important: To change SMTP email settings, run the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor configCC utility.
Engine Connection These setting specify the port that the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor engine is configured to listen on for connections from the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor console. This setting is defined during IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor installation and is view only.
File Agent Settings on the File Agent tab let you specify settings IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor uses to listen for process submissions from file agents associated with managed Sterling Connect:Direct® servers.
SNMP Hosts Specifies the host computers where Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps are sent.

You can define an IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor action that sends a trap to an SNMP tool. These traps contain information from the event that can be used for diagnostics. The action can be referenced by one or more rules, which when triggered will send the SNMP trap.

Services Controls the number of simultaneous pollers, as well as settings relating to configuration management.

These settings are all system-wide. You can also specify how to display time on your IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor web console.
