Specifying labels for user-defined fields

You can specify the labels that are used to map specific data elements from specific events to specific user-defined fields. You can then display the fields as columns in the Completed file transfers view, Completed processes view, or both views in the web console.

Identify the data elements that you want to tag with user-defined fields:
  1. From the Completed file transfers view or the Completed processes view, filter the list by the server type you want to view.
Tip: If you want to add data for a specific server, you can select that server when you select the data that will be displayed in the list. You can also specify default user-defined fields for all server types.
  2. Click an item to drill into the event details.
  3. Locate an event with the data that you want to be able to view from the Completed file transfers view, Completed processes view, or both.
  4. Identify the event details, for example, event type or step name, that you want to display in the list so that you can specify user-defined fields for these items in the following procedure.

In this procedure, you configure user-defined fields for information that you want to display in the Completed file transfers view, Completed processes view, or both views. Ten user-defined fields, or tags, are available for mapping. You can specify user-defined fields for a specific server type or default user-defined fields for all server types.

  1. From the web console, click Menu button, which contain system settings, placed at the extreme right hand side of the screen (Menu button) > System Settings > Custom Views.
  2. In the navigation tree on the Customize views with server-specific data page, expand one of the individual server types or Defaults for all server types.
Important: When you are viewing a set of processes from multiple server types, the tag labels you configure for Defaults for all server types take precedence.
  3. Click Tag labels.
  4. Type a name for each of the tags that you want to display. You can type a name in either the File transfers field, the Processes field, or both for each of the 10 tags.
  5. Click Save.

Map the labels that you customized to specific events within specific event data elements.
