Creating a role

Create roles to specify the IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor actions users can perform and the servers and server groups they can perform these actions on.

CAUTION:
If you change permissions or restrictions for the superuser role, you cannot reverse them without reinstalling IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor or manually restoring the superuser role.
To create a role:
  1. From IBM Control Center Monitor Web Console, select User and Roles.
  2. From the left hand side navigation panel, click All Role > Create Role on the top right of the List Roles screen.
  3. Define a name for the role and provide a description.
  4. For restricted roles, select "Access to specific Server Groups" and/or "Access to specific Data Visibility Groups".
  5. Select the permissions Associated with the Role.
    Refer to Permissions for a description of the permissions.
  6. Click Create Role.
  7. Confirm role creation by clicking Confirm.
The role is displayed in the Roles listing.
