How can I know when an in-progress SLC expires during the controller event processor transition?

You can set up a rule so that you are notified when IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor stops monitoring an in-progress SLC because the SLC monitoring window expires during the controller event processor (EP) transition.

When the controller EP stops, another EP is selected as the new controller EP. If an SLC monitoring window expires during this transition, monitoring of the SLC is not resumed by the new controller EP, and no additional events are generated for the SLC. You can set up a rule to watch for this event with message ID CSLC248E.

Important:
  • Prioritize this rule above any other rules that are generated for simple SLCs. Otherwise, CSLC248E events are ignored.
  • If SLCs are defined for data visibility groups (DVGs), you need to define this rule for each DVG rule set as well.
  1. Create a rule that specifies the following key, operator, and value:
    Key Operator Value
    Message Id Matches CSLC248E
  2. Select an existing action or create a new action that is to be taken when the rule is triggered.
