Enabling high availability in a single data center

To enable high availability in a data center, you can install more than one IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor instance on different servers within the same data center, and point all IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor instances to the same database or schema on the same database server.

After more than one IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor event processor (EP) is installed and configured, when an EP goes down, other EPs take over the servers that are monitored by the failed EP.

Note that server assignment policy of an active event processor might prevent EPs from accepting servers from the failed EP. Also, server assignment policy of a failed EP might prevent the monitored servers from being assigned to other active event processors. Servers that are pinned to a specific EP cannot be reassigned either.
