Viewing a list of completed file transfers

The Completed file transfers view shows the most recently completed file transfers that you have permission to view. Searching and filtering this list facilitates troubleshooting issues with file transfers.

Access the Completed file transfers view directly from the web console Monitor menu, the Recent file transfer widget, or the Transfer scorecard widget. The Completed file transfers view provides lists of successful, completed with errors, and failed file transfers that completed for the current day. You can filter the transfers that are shown in the view by selecting one or more server types. You can also select a date range to expand the results beyond the current day and time range for the current day to further filter the list.
Attention: If you upgrade IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor from a version earlier than IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor V5.4.1, the existing data before the upgrade is not displayed in the Completed file transfers list.

In the Completed file transfers view, users with data visibility group restrictions see only the completed processes that are tagged for the data visibility groups (DVGs) that are associated with their role.

You can drill down from the list to access increasingly detailed information about the transfer and the events that were generated for the transfer:
  • Click a hyperlink in a row to access details about the file transfer. General information is available such as the server name, process name, step name, date, and time that the transfer started and ended. The information that is provided depends on the server type.
Tip: When you click the Process link, the associated process information displays for the file transfer.
  • Click the Events tab on the File Transfer page to display all of the events from the process within which the file transfer was reported. This information can include events from other file transfers that also occurred during this same process. In the Events page, click a hyperlink in a row to access statistics about the event.
Fast path: You can use an existing file transfer to set up monitoring for future transactions. From the Completed File Transfers view, click a transaction, and then click Monitor this. If you have permission to create a rule or simple SLC, click Monitor this for success or failure. A form is populated with information from the transaction. You can add details to specify what to monitor, when to monitor it, and what actions to take, such as an alert or email notification. If you do not have permission to create the objects to support the Monitor this option, you can send an email request for a system administrator to create the objects. The email is populated with the information you specified in the Monitor this page.
  1. To access the Completed file transfers view:
    • From the web console, click Monitor > Completed file transfers.
    • From the Recent file transfer widget or the Transfer scorecard widget, click the section of the widget graph you want more information about.

      • Narrow the server types by selecting each server type that you want to include in the list.
    • In the search input box, type a text string that you want to use in a general search across all columns of data.
