Installing an FTP Agent in Microsoft Windows for W3C, IIS, and xferlog
Before you can monitor Microsoft Windows for W3C, IIS, and xferlog servers with IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor, you have to install and set up an FTP agent.
Use this procedure to install the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor FTP agent on a Microsoft Windows system for use with W3C, IIS, and xferlog. FTP agent installer file names vary by operating system.
To install the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor FTP agent on Microsoft Windows:
If the installation fails, review the installation log to determine the cause. This log is called Sterling_Control_Center_-_FTP_Agent_version_InstallLog.log and is located in the FTP agent installation directory.
The installer creates a Microsoft Windows service to run the FTP agent. The installation program also installs the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) required to run the FTP agent.
