Configuring SMTP settings for email messages

In IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor, you can create a rule to send an email based upon a system event. To send an email, you must first configure the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) settings during the IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor installation. After installation, configure or re-configure email settings with the configCC utility. From IBM Sterling Control Center v6.2 onwards, you must provide a valid working EMail(SMTP) server connection details to create new Control Center Users.

To configure SMTP settings for email messages:
To configure email settings after installation, run the configCC utility. To configure email setting from IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor Web Console, go to Menu Button () > System Settings > Email Server.
Attention: If you want to use a null user ID and password, enter a period (.) when prompted by the configCC utility.
