What's new for V6.2.1
IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor V6.2.1 includes the following enhancements. To install this software, you should go to the Passport Advantage website and follow the instructions described to complete the download.
- Connect:Direct Configuration Management functionality has been removed from Control Center Monitor and it is available from Control Center Director.
- Redirection of Server and Server Group management functions from Classic Console to Web
Console:
- In this release, the following capabilities have been moved from Classic Console (Java Swing UI
/ Thick UI) to Web Console.
- Server Management (Create / Update/ Delete/ View / Pause / Resume / Stop)
- Server Group Management (Create / Update / Delete / View)
- Server List view / Server Status Monitor
The menu options related to the above features are still available in Class Console (Java Swing UI / Thick UI) but when the menu option is selected, you will be redirected to appropriate function in Web Console with auto login i.e. you do not need to enter the credentials again.
- You can add, remove and perform action on a server from Control Center Monitor Web Console. For more information, refer Managing servers.
- You can add, remove and perform action on a server group from Control Center Monitor Web Console. For more information, refer Managing server groups.
- In this release, the following capabilities have been moved from Classic Console (Java Swing UI
/ Thick UI) to Web Console.
- While creating metadata actions, you can now include a portion of an event element value for any of the user data fields, instead of the whole value. For more details, refer Creating metadata actions.
- An option to speed up EventMonitor processing is added. (This can be important for multi-EP
systems that monitor a significant amount of activity.) You must specify the engine property
PUT_EVENT_XML_IN_EVENTS
with a value oftrue
(default isfalse
), and restarting Control Center. The new columnEVENTS.EVENT_XML
will be set, and the logic the EventMonitor used to obtain the value it contains can be avoided, which saves a significant amount of processing and database I/O time, albeit at the cost of a significant amount of storage. - Seven new out of the box events summary reports such as Events by Date, Events by Date and Server, etc., have been added.
- A new field named “SLC Notes” has been added to all types of SLCs capture detailed notes (multi-pages) has been added.
- Integrated Connect:Direct Browser interface access is not available from any of the Control Center interfaces including launch page. Instead of Connect:Direct Browser, CD Web Console can be accessed from Control Center user interfaces by specifying the URL of the CD Web Console through Control Center system settings.
- You can create your own Jasper report and use it within Control Center. For more details, refer Custom reports.
- Integrated Connect:Direct Browser interface access is not available from any of the Control Center interfaces including launch page. Instead of Connect:Direct Browser, CD Web Console can be accessed from Control Center user interfaces by specifying the URL of the CD Web Console through Control Center system settings. You have to install "IBM Connect:Direct Web Service" pulling the latest version from IBM Fix Central.
