The Release Notes document supplements documentation. Release notes are updated with each
release of the product and contain last-minute changes and product requirements, as well as other
information pertinent to installing and implementing .
IBM® Sterling Control

- IBM Certified Container for IBM Sterling Control Center is made available with this release.
- To deploy certified IBM Sterling Control Center container, you should go to the IBM Entitled
Registry website and install the latest available fix pack.
- IBM Sterling Control Center Certified Container is built based on Red Hat UBI as base image and
it is bundled with IBM JRE for Linux.
- Following are the supported Container runtime environments:
- Red Hat OpenShift >= 4.6
- Kubernetes >= 1.19
- Cluster with x86-64-bit CPU architecture
- Following are the deployment requirements
- Supports OpenShift cluster AirGap environment deployment.
- To install non-container version of this software, you should go to the Fix Central
website and install the latest available fix pack.
- Now, you must create two persistence volume while deploying IBM Sterling Control Center with
helm charts in Kubernetes environment.
- Now, container support in docker environment will no longer be available.

website and install the latest available iFix.
- Installed Kubernetes version should be 1.17 or greater.
user_inputs directory should be common for all pod directories while deploying
IBM Sterling Control
Center Director using Helm Charts in
Kubernetes Cluster or OpenShift platform. For more information, refer Containerization support with IBM Sterling Control Center Director.

To install this software, you should go to the Passport
Advantage website and follow instructions described to complete the download.
- With IBM Sterling Control Center 6.2, it is possible to run both Control Center Monitor and
Director from one install location. This can be achieved by configuring the product entitlement.
When you upgrade to Control Center 6.2, configuration process will prompt to you to specify your
entitlement. In entitlement configuration step,
you can choose to deploy both products together. When both Monitor and Director are run from single
instance, following should be noted:
- Servers, Server Groups, Users, Roles and Audit Logs are commonly managed for both products
- Roles' Permission section will allow
you configured permissions for both products
- Ability to switch between both products' Web Console is possible through a drop down
- When a Connect:Direct server self-registers through Control Center Director’s registration
mechanism, the new Connect:Direct server will appear in both product’s server list view.
- One Connect:Direct server cannot be monitored more than once using two different Server
aliases
- This release provides flexibility to configure Control Center Director in a high availability environment.
- This release extends support to install
new Connect:Direct server directly from Control Center Director Web Console.
- Users can now manage User and Roles
directly from Control Center Director
Web Console and grant or restrict user access based on permission rights.
- Users can now modify the system settings, view the overall system health from Control Center Director Web Console's Menu Settings option.
- With this release, the Dashboard
presents consolidated view of Control Center Director status.
- The IBM Sterling Control Center Classic Console can easily be launched from Web Console using
Menu Settings.
- You must provide a valid working e-mail (SMTP) server connection details to create new Control
Center Users. For information, see Menu
Settings. For existing users, if you have not already added a valid e-mail, you will be
prompted to add your e-mail ID upon first login.
- You can launch Configuration Management from Control Center Director web console. For more
information, refer to Configuration.
