Starting the engine manually on the UNIX operating system

You can start IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor manually on the UNIX operating system by using runEngine.sh.

Warning: On the UNIX, Linux®, or AIX® operating system, if you want to start IBM Sterling Control Center Monitor engine with a PuTTY session, do not enable X11 forwarding for the SSH connection. Otherwise, when the PuTTY session is closed, the engine port stops and disappears.
Use the following procedure to start the engine automatically on UNIX.
  1. Log in as root, or as the user who installed the engine.
  2. Change the current working directory on the computer where the engine is installed to installation directory/bin.
  3. Type sh runEngine.sh.
