Changing system server group names
You can change system server group names by editing the systemGroups.properties file. However, you must change system server group names before you start IBM® Sterling Control Center Monitor for the first time.
Observe the following guidelines when changing the name of a system server group:
- Never change system server group names if they are referenced by some other object, such as a report, an SLC, or a DVG.
- If you change the name of a system server group, be sure to give it a unique name. System server group names cannot match any user-defined server group.
- System server group names must meet the same naming conventions as other IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor server groups:
- They must be syntactically correct.
- They must contain less than 51 characters.
- They cannot contain the following characters:
& \ / : " ' < > | #
To put the name changes into effect immediately, start the IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor event processor. Do not create
IBM Sterling Control Center
Monitor objects that reference the
system server groups until the event processor is started and the changes put into effect.
