Changing the user key

After a user key is configured, you can still change the user key.

About this task

To change the user key, you must be an IBM® Control Center administrator. To change the user key:

Procedure

  1. Stop all your IBM Control Center event processors (EPs).
  2. In the installation_directory/bin directory, run the following command:
    Microsoft Windows UNIX
    configUserKey.bat configUserKey.sh
  3. Select the option for changing the user key.
  4. Enter the new user key.
  5. Re-enter the user key.
  6. In a high availability environment, run the following command for all other EPs:
    Microsoft Windows UNIX
    configUserKey.bat -sync configUserKey.sh -sync
  7. Restart all EPs in the cluster.
