Analyzing free text

You can test IBM® Content Classification's analysis capability and simulate your knowledge base's performance for a single text. Enter text and view a list of top-matching categories and their scores.

About this task

In addition, you can view significant concepts within the text for selected categories. You can also submit the text as feedback to the knowledge base, which enables the knowledge base to classify similar texts in the future.

To analyze free text:

Procedure

  1. On the toolbar, click Analyze Free text.
  2. Select a field that stores content that is similar to the text that you want to analyze. For example, if you want to analyze body text and your content set stores body text in a Message field, select the Message field.
  3. Enter the text that you want to analyze.
  4. Optional: For multilingual projects, you can click Set Language to set the language of the text. The list of available languages is defined in the Project Options window.
  5. Click Analyze. Classification Workbench displays a list of scores and categories, in order of relevancy. The language of the text is also identified and displayed.
  6. Optional: View significant concepts in the text by clicking View Significant Concepts.
  7. Optional: Use the text as feedback for the selected category by clicking Learn.
