Lesson 1: Creating a Classification Workbench project and importing a content set

Follow the steps to complete the first lesson in which you create a Decision Plan project in Classification Workbench and import a content set.

Remember: If you get stuck at any point, open the Decision Plan Tutorial project that is in the Classification_Home\Samples\SampleData\IBM Products directory. This project is a finished version of the project you build in this module.

To create a decision plan in Classification Workbench:

  1. If Classification Workbench is not running, click Start > Programs > IBM® Content Classification 8.8 > Classification Workbench.
  2. Click New Project on the toolbar, or click New at the bottom of the Open Project window.
  3. Type the project name Tutorial_DP, enter a description (optional), set the project type to Decision Plan, and click Next.
This image shows how you create a decision plan project in the New Project wizard.
  4. Accept the default selection Create a project by importing a content set and click Next.
This image shows the New Project Options window.
  5. Accept the default selection Files from a file system folder and click Next.
This image shows the Import Content Set window.
  6. Specify the fully qualified path for the root folder from which documents are to be imported. You can find the content set for this tutorial in Classification_Home\Samples\SampleData\IBM Products. All documents in the root folder and its subfolders are imported. Click Next.
  7. The list of files and folders is displayed. For this tutorial, do not change anything and click Next.
  8. Specify category names for each of the folders that you selected. For this tutorial, accept the default name, which matches the folder name, and click Next.
  9. Specify the extraction settings for the content set. For this tutorial, do not change anything and click Finish.
A progress bar is displayed, indicating that data is being imported. When the import process is complete, the system automatically generates a content set file that is based on the imported data. The decision plan window opens automatically.
