What's new for users in IBM Content Navigator 3.0.11?
IBM® Content Navigator Version 3.0.11 includes the following new and changed features for users:
Simple Search
You are given a simpler way to search for relevant documents in a FileNet P8 repository that uses content-based search. You can use AND terms, negate terms, wild cards, and more when you enter your initial search keywords. You are provided with metadata-driven search filters, which can quickly narrow down the search results. Some examples of the metadata-driven search filters are Class, Modified By (user), Modified On (date), Added By (user). For more information, see Simple Search.
Search label names are simplified
For IBM Content Manager only. For a search on classes with item subtypes, the subtype labels are simplified to display only the child attribute. To view the parent attribute, hover over the child label.
IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office (NMO) users log in only one time
When Single Sign-on (SSO) is enabled, you log in only one time for any of the Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) in Content Navigator. You do not need to log in again if you connect from another Microsoft Office application. This feature also applies to Edit Service client and Sync client.
List the Content Navigator hosts that are allowed to access the Windows Edit Client service
In the IBM Content Navigator Edit.exe.config configuration file, with the CORSSite property, you can define a list of IBM Content Navigator hosts that are allowed to access the Edit Client service. For more information, see Configuring the Edit Service client for IBM Content Navigator.
Process changes for documents when you edit with Edit Service client
If the document is already checked out before you edit it with the Edit Service client, the document remains checked out. When you complete the edit, the document is saved to the repository. The version is unchanged.
If the document is not checked out before you edit it with the Edit Service client, when you complete the edit, the document change is checked in to the repository. The version is incremented.
Include all properties for a cross-repository search on multiple classes
For a cross-repository search in multiple classes, you can now select all properties in the mapping of the properties of each class by selecting Include all properties. This function is for FileNet P8 only. For more information, see Searching for content across multiple repositories (cross-repository searches).
Copy and paste multiple email addresses into an HTML email form
You can now copy and paste a list of comma-separated email addresses from another application, such as from an email, to the HTML email form. For more information, see Configuring email settings.
Email look-ahead for HTML-based email service
When your administrator sets the Desktop Enable email look-ahead option, the HTML-based email service provides email suggestions when you enter an email address in the To, Cc, or Bcc field. This setting is only for IBM FileNet P8 users. For more information, see Configuring email settings.
Set maximum results in a stored search
You can now set the maximum search results for each search. If you can view and run the search, you can also update the maximum results at run time. If you can also save the search, you can modify and save the maximum results within the saved search. This feature is for FileNet P8 only.
