Data source and database configuration worksheets

A data source enables the web client to connect to the IBM Content Navigator database. IBM Content Navigator stores configuration information and user preferences in a database.

Use the appropriate worksheet to create a data source for the IBM Content Navigator database on your web application server:
IBM Content Navigator includes a script that you can update and use to create and populate a table where you can store your configuration data on the following types of database servers:
  • Db2 or Db2 SSL for Linux, UNIX and Windows.
  • Db2® for z/OS®
  • Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server SSL
  • Oracle
  • (For V3.0.10 iFix1 and later) Oracle Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
  • Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC)
  • PostgreSQL or PostgreSQL SSL
Important: You must run the script on an existing database instance. If you do not have a database instance where you want to create the IBM Content Navigator configuration table, the installation documentation includes samples that you can use to create a database instance. For more information, see Creating a database for IBM Content Navigator.
To update the database configuration script you can:
  • Use the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool to edit the script (recommended)
  • Manually edit the script
Tip: If you manually edit the script, it is recommended that you save a backup copy of the script for reference.

Use the appropriate worksheet to update the database configuration script for your environment:
