Cannot add a document to Microsoft SharePoint

When you try to add a large document to Microsoft SharePoint, if the file size limit is exceeded, you cannot add the document.

Symptoms

If the file size limit is exceeded, you receive the following error:
A connection to the web client cannot be established by using the following URL: 
You might need to authenticate to a firewall, or the web application server might not be running or cannot be reached because of network problems.
If you need to authenticate to a firewall, authenticate and try to log in again. If the problem persists, report the error to your system administrator.
The following HTTP error was returned: 599 Error 599: Java heap space.

Causes

This problem occurs when the file you are trying to add exceeds to file size limit for Microsoft SharePoint documents.

Environment

This occurs on IBM Content Navigator Web Parts on Microsoft SharePoint pages.

Resolving the problem

To resolve this problem:
  • Ensure that you have sufficient disk space on the server where you installed IBM Content Navigator.
  • Increase the size of the Java virtual machine heap, and then restart the application server.
In a WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment environment, repeat these steps for all application servers where IBM Content Navigator is deployed.
