Using IBM Content Cortex for Outlook
After you log in to IBM Content Cortex for Outlook, you can add Outlook emails to your repository or attach repository files to your outgoing emails.

Before you begin, you must log in to IBM Content Cortex for Outlook.
About this task
IBM Content Cortex for Outlook provides two main capabilities: you can add Outlook emails to your IBM Content Cortex repository, or you can attach files from your repository to outgoing emails in Outlook. The available functionality depends on your current Outlook context.

Results
You can now add Outlook emails to your IBM Content Cortex repository or attach repository files to your outgoing emails without leaving Outlook.
Example
To add an email from Outlook to your IBM Content Cortex repository
- Select the email that you want to add in Outlook
- Click IBM Content Cortex on the Home ribbon
- The Add page displays with the email details (subject, from, sent date)
- Select the destination folder where you want to store the email
- Choose the document class (Email is selected by default)
- Enter the required properties for the selected class
- Click Add
- The email is saved to your repository in .eml format
To attach a file from your repository to an outgoing email
- Compose a new email or reply to an existing email in Outlook
- Click IBM Content Cortex on the Home ribbon
- The Attach page displays your repository folders
- Browse to the folder containing the file that you want to attach
- Select the file
- Click Attach
- The file is added to your email as an attachment
