Configuring the workflow system to use IBM Content Navigator

You must configure the server base URL so that users can process workflows from IBM Content Navigator. The server base URL specifies IBM Content Navigator as the web client and can be modified by using the Content Platform Engine administration console.

Before you begin

You must configure a workflow system before you can create application spaces, where users can process workflows from their desktops.

About this task

You must complete this task if you plan to use custom or predefined workflows in IBM Content Navigator.

Procedure

Configure the server base URL:
IBM Content Cortex version Instructions
IBM Content Cortex 5.2.0 and earlie Log on to Workplace XT and open the Process Configuration Console.
  1. Connect to the region that you want to use.
  2. Open the VWService Properties and select Properties.
  3. Click Web Applications and enter the URL for the IBM Content Navigator web client.

    Use the following syntax: http://navigator_servername:port number/navigator.

  4. Specify IBM Content Navigator as the default web application.
IBM Content Cortex 5.2.1 and later In the Content Platform Engine administration console, access the web application properties for the workflow system you want to use:
  1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store.
  2. In the object store navigation pane, click Administrative > Workflow System.
  3. In the details pane, click the Web Applications tab.
  4. Modify the IBM Content Navigator web application server base URL.

    Use the following syntax: http://navigator_servername:port number/navigator.

  5. Specify the default web application on the Web Applications tab.
Important: If your system has more than one IBM Content Navigator server each with its own connection point that are all pointing to the same Content Platform Engine, you need to add the Server base URL to the Isolated Region of the connection point.

To add the Server base URL to the Isolated Region of the connection point:

  1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store.
  2. In the object store navigation pane, click Administrative > Workflow System > Isolated Regions.
  3. In the details pane, click the Web Applications tab.
  4. Modify the IBM Content Navigator web application server base URL.
