IBM Docs menu actions are disabled

If the IBM Docs Integration plug-in is installed, but the selected repository doesn't have the IBM Docs add-on installed, IBM Docs menu actions are disabled.

Symptoms

When you try to create a new document, the New Document menu action is disabled. When you try to edit an existing document, the Edit in IBM Docs menu action is disabled.

Causes

The selected repository doesn't have the IBM Docs add-on installed.

Environment

This occurs on IBM Content Navigator with the IBM Docs Integration plug-in, when the plug-in is installed, but the repository add-on is not installed.

Resolving the problem

To resolve this problem, follow these steps to install the add-on to the repository:
  1. Open the administration tool in the IBM Content Navigator web application, and click Plug-ins. Then, select the IBM Docs Integration plug-in and click Edit.
  2. For each repository that you want to use with IBM Docs, install the add-on for the repository:
    1. Select the repository name, and click Connect.
    2. Enter a repository administrator user name and password, and click Log in.
    3. After you connect to the repository, click Install Addon.
  3. Save your changes to the plug-in configuration.
