Configuring multi-content documents

With the IBM® Content Navigator administration tool, you can configure the content to display for a document.

About this task

The following steps guide you through selecting how you want to view documents.

Procedure

  1. On your Desktop, select the General tab, and go to the Multi-content documents label. Select how you want to view the content elements in your documents.
    • Option 1. Display the first page of each content element in the viewer.

      IBM Content Cortex and IBM Content Manager users only: If you want only the first page of each content element in P8, or part in CM8, to be displayed in the viewer, select this option.

    • Option 2. Display only the first content element in the viewer.

      IBM Content Cortex and IBM Content Manager users only: If you want all pages of the first content element in P8, or part in CM8, to be displayed in the viewer, select this option.

    • For IBM Content Navigator 3.0.9 and later: Option 3. Display the first content element in the viewer, then go to any content element.

      IBM Content Cortex and IBM Content Manager users only: If you want to see the first content element in P8, or part in CM8, in the viewer, and also go to any content element or part and its related pages, select this option.

    • For IBM Content Cortex 26.0.0 and later: Option 4. Displays all pages of every content element in the viewer..

      IBM Content Cortex users only: If you want all pages of each content element to be displayed in the viewer, select this option.

  2. Save your selection. Refresh. Then, select the document that you want to view.
  3. You can view the content element by using various methods.

    For all four options, you can

    • Use the scroll bar on the right.
    • Use the up and down paging arrows.
    • Use the Thumbnail view in the page picker.

    For Option 3, a content element picker in P8, or part picker in CM8, activates at the upper left of the viewer. Use the picker to select the content element or the part that you want to view. Then, you can display the content element or part pages by using the scroll bar, the paging arrows, or the Thumbnail view.

    Note: Option 4 applies only to documents in the IBM Content Cortex repository when viewed using the Daeja viewer.
