Configuring Merge and Split

About this task

For documents in IBM® Content Manager and IBM Content Cortex, you can rotate, cut, and copy one or more pages from existing documents and paste them to a new document or an existing document. When you are done merging and splitting documents, you can save the new or updated documents back into the repository. Note that all of the documents that you are working with must be in the same repository. For example, if you cut a page from document A, copy a page from document B, and paste them into new document C, document A and B must be from the same repository and document C will be saved in that same repository.

To configure the Merge and Split feature for your users, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. In the Desktop Configuration, for the Merge and Split option, select Enable to enable Merge and Split and, optionally, enable displaying the Check in dialog when a user checks in changes to a document.
  2. To allow a user without access to role-based redactions to merge and split pages that have role-based redactions, select Allow users to merge and split pages that have role-based redactions. This setting is in the role-based redactions section in the repository configuration. For more information see, Configuring role-based redactions for IBM FileNet P8 repositories
