Configuring and deploying IBM ECM CMIS

Before users can access IBM® ECM CMIS, you must configure and deploy it on your web application server.

The IBM ECM CMIS Configuration and Deployment Tool enables you to deploy the following types of repositories:
  • IBM CMIS for IBM® Content Manager
  • IBM CMIS for Content Manager OnDemand
  • IBM CMIS for Content Cortex
  • IBM FileNet Collaboration Services
Depending on the type of web application server that you are deploying to, you can combine some of the repository types into a single EAR file. The IBM ECM CMIS Configuration and Deployment tool allows you to deploy the following combinations:
Components Can Be Deployed With Cannot be Deployed With
IBM CMIS for IBM Content Manager Not applicable Cannot be deployed with any other repository
IBM CMIS for Content Manager OnDemand Not applicable Cannot be deployed with any other repostitory
IBM CMIS for Content Cortex
  • IBM FileNet Collaboration Services
  • IBM CMIS for IBM Content Manager
  • IBM CMIS for Content Manager OnDemand
IBM FileNet Collaboration Services
  • IBM CMIS for Content Cortex
  • IBM CMIS for IBM Content Manager
  • IBM CMIS for Content Manager OnDemand
Reminder: Some components are not supported on all of the supported web application servers. For example, web applications that connect to IBM Content Manager repositories are not supported on Oracle WebLogic Server. For more information, see Planning for your web application server.
The configuration tasks that you must complete depend on the following factors:
  • The type of application that you are deploying
  • The type of web application server that you are deploying to
  • The type of repositories that you are connecting to
The IBM ECM CMIS Configuration and Deployment Tool displays the tasks that you must complete based on the selections that you make when you create your configuration profile. Complete the appropriate tasks for your environment.
