Configuring your database and data source

Several IBM Content Navigator components require a database. This task creates a data source connection that enables the web client to connect to your database. In addition, this task creates a script that is used to create tables for each component that requires access to the database.

Before you begin

You must have an existing database before you run this task.

This task assumes that you have a configuration profile open in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool.

About this task

When you run this task, the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool uses the information that you provide to complete the following tasks:
  • Create a data source connection in your web application server
  • Update the script that you can run to populate the IBM Content Navigator database on your database instance
  • Run the script to build and populate the IBM Content Navigator database on your database instance

Procedure

To configure your database and data source:

  1. Open the following task in your configuration profile: Configure Your Database and Datasource.
  2. Complete the task by using the values that you entered in the data source configuration worksheet for your environment:
  3. Click Next to run the task.
