Starting the configuration manager
The configuration manager guides you through selecting and configuring the features that you installed with the installation wizard. The configuration manager can create your user IDs and databases, and deploys your web application.
About this task
You must configure a feature before you can use it.
You can start the configuration manager from the installation wizard, or you can start it manually at a later time (for example, after you install a fix pack). To start it manually, do one of the following:
- Windows: You must run the configuration manager as an administrator. For
example:
- In File Explorer, navigate to the %IBMCMREPO%\8.7.00.000\bin directory, right-click cmcfgmgr_CM, and then click Run as administrator.
- To always run the configuration manager as administrator, right-click the shortcut for it, click Properties > Advanced, and then click Run as administrator.
- UNIX: Log in as root, and then use the following
command:
IBMCMREPO/8.7.00.000/bin/cmcfgmgr_CM
You can rerun the configuration manager as many times as necessary. For example, if the configuration fails or if you apply a fix pack, you can rerun the configuration manager without any need to reinstall. The configuration manager replaces all configuration scripts such as cmcfgls and cmcfgrmdb.
The configuration manager creates log files in IBMCMREPO/CMVersionFolder/cmcfgmgr/log/ in subdirectories that are named after each host.
