Content Cortex domain backup and recovery
A backup strategy that ensures that data and software configuration files are regularly backed up is essential to protect against the loss of that data and to facilitate a rapid recovery from an emergency that results in the destruction of the original data or an Content Cortex component. Loss of data can be catastrophic and affect the entire enterprise, or be a minor loss that affects a single component such as an object store. The backup policy that you establish depends on a number of factors, such as the sensitivity of the data, the user needs, and the company organization.
Because the data processed by various Content Cortex components are interdependent, you must back up all data within a single Content Cortex domain at the same time, regardless of the physical location of the data. To maintain the integrity of the data within your Content Cortex site, you must therefore restore the entire Content Cortex domain as well, because restoring a single component of the system introduces inconsistencies and errors.
