Setting performance parameters
The performance parameters maximize performance by controlling workstation access to the server and balancing the optimization of workstation and server performance.
About this task
The settings determine the performance of the workstation
in relation to the server. For example, changing the maximum operations
per transaction setting can alter the efficiency of the workstation.
For most workflow systems, the default settings are sufficient. Adjust
the settings only if directed by your service representative, under
the following conditions:
- Workflow maps that run in the isolated region contain 750 - 1000
system instructions between user-defined instructions.
To maximize the availability of the Instruction Sheet Interpreter and other server resources in this situation, decrease the value of the maximum instructions per transaction setting.
- The InstructionSheetInterpreter system queue is filling up.
Increase the value of the maximum instructions per transaction setting.
- The size of the database audit trail is exceeded, preventing further
database activity.
Decrease the value in the maximum operations per transaction setting, or see the appropriate vendor documentation for information on optimizing or increasing the amount of space available for the database audit trail.
