Manage event logs
Event logs provide a record of workflow activity as a series
of events, such as when a work item was created, when a milestone
was reached, when an exception occurred, and other information useful
for managing a workflow system. Each event that is logged is part
of an event category, and has an associated event number.
Creating an event log
You can use Process Configuration Console to create and manage additional event logs for your application. For example, you might specify one event log in one workflow definition, and another event log in a different workflow definition to distribute the event data and enable an administrator to find items of interest more easily.
Viewing or modifying event log properties
You can modify the properties of an event log, such as changing the log description, adding or deleting system and data fields, and creating indexes. You can also specify which categories of events are logged by configuring the event logging options for the isolated region.
Configuring event logging options
Event logging options determine whether the workflow system generates a log message when certain system-level events occur within the selected isolated region. Each event logging option represents an event category. If you enable logging for a category, the occurrence of any event within that category generates a log message.
