Installing your client application

The Java™ runtime is not provided as part of the Content Platform Engine installation package. You must provide a suitable Java environment which is necessary to run the installer. If you plan to run applications that use the Content Engine or Process Engine Java APIs, the applications also require a Java environment which need not be the same, although they can be. Ensure all tasks described in Providing a Java™ Runtime Environment during installation were completed.

IBM® Content Navigator

IBM Content Navigator is the preferred client application that you can use to manage content that is stored on IBM Content Cortex.

IBM Content Navigator is an easy to use, customize, and deploy web client for content management. IBM Content Navigator provides users with a web console to access object store content and workflow processing on IBM Content Manager Enterprise Edition, IBM Content Manager OnDemand, or IBM Content Cortex repositories.

IBM ECM Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS)

CMIS is an open standard that enables you to work with different types of repositories and content management systems using Web protocols. For more information, see "Planning, installing, and configuring IBM ECM CMIS" in the documentation for IBM Content Navigator .
